Men's Tennis Gears Up for Two Conference Road Matches

STATESBORO, Ga. -- Georgia Southern Men's Tennis is getting into the midst of their conference schedule. With seven more league matches left on the year, the Eagles are visiting Appalachian State and Davidson on Friday and Saturday.

"We've been focusing on steady improvements each day for the whole semester and this group has done a great job with that," said Head Coach Nick Zieziula.

The Eagles (6-5, 2-1 SoCon) will head up to Boone, N.C. for their match against ASU on Friday at 2 p.m. before taking on Davidson on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Davidson, N.C.

The Wildcats are holding an 8-6 overall record stand 2-3 in conference play. Similar to the Eagles, the Wildcats have earned a victory over The Citadel while dropping a close match to the College of Charleston.

The Mountaineers stand 4-8 on the season and are 2-1 in SoCon play with a win and a loss against The Citadel and CofC as well.

"We need to continue to focus on the process of improving daily and the results will follow. The next two matches are no different. If we continue to focus on making consistent steps forward then we will be in good shape," said Zieziula.

Last time on the courts, the Eagles fell 4-3 in a tough match on March 18 against CofC at the Hanner Tennis Complex. Picking up wins for the Eagles were freshman Rayane Djouad, senior Matthijs Verdam and sophomore Albert Codina Sala.
