Men?s Soccer Set to Face Campbell on Saturday

Statesboro, Ga. - The Georgia Southern Men’s Soccer team travels to Buies Creek, N.C. to face the preseason Atlantic Sun favorite, Campbell.

“We're very excited to have the opportunity to play Campbell this weekend. This is a team that won the Atlantic Sun Conference last year and advanced to the NCAA tournament. I understand that they are a disciplined and well coached team, and they have a number of players that are able to cause problems,” said Coach Kennedy.

The Eagles (1-1-0) are seeking their second win of the season after defeating Clemson 2-1 last Friday (9/5).

Daniel Smith (Marietta, Ga.) was named SoCon Player of the Week for his performance against Clemson.

Smith scored his first two goals of the season in the Clemson game.

The Fighting Camels (1-2-0) are looking to right the ship after losing two straight games. In their last game Campbell lost 1-0 to #23 Loyola.

Khalil Johnson and Jason Keever both have a goal scored on the season.

The Eagles finish up their three game road trip against the Fighting Camels.

The Men’s Soccer team returns home for five straight games starting with North Florida on September the 17th.

“We're expecting a very tough game, and we're looking forward to closing out this stretch of road games and returning home,” said Coach Kennedy.
