Football Homestand Continues Against Western Carolina
STATESBORO, Ga. Georgia Southern Football continues their three-game homestand at Paulson Stadium this Saturday (Sept. 29), facing Western Carolina. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. and will be televised live on CSS/Charter Sports Southeast.

Saturday’s game will also be: Military Appreciation Day, Faculty and Staff Day, Little League Day and Cheerleader Day. Also during halftime former All-America quarterback Tracy Ham will be recognized for his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame last July.
Representatives from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines will be in attendance along with several special events that will entertain all fans as well as honor our troops, including but not limited to a special presentation to Lieutenant Duane Clayton the same officer from the military video at the West Georgia game.
All University employees may purchase seated tickets at the reduced rate of $12 each and all military personnel may purchase general admission tickets to sit on the grass at the extremely reduced rate of $5 each. University employees and Military personnel may reserve their tickets by calling 1-800-GSU-WINS or purchase them at the Ticket Office on the day of the game. All reserved tickets will be available at the will call window of the Ticket Office on the day of the game.
Senior quarterback Jayson Foster (Canton/Cherokee County) leads the nation in four categories: rushing yards (231.3 yards), total offense (332 ypg), all-purpose yards (248.3) and scoring (24.0 ppg). He has accounted for 13 touchdowns in the first three games of the season.
Foster’s 694 net rushing yards this season rank as the third-most during a three-game span in Southern Conference history. In addition to his rushing, Foster is coming off a career-best 17-of-20 passing performance totaling 120 yards.
Defensively, linebacker E.J. Webb (Roanoke, VA/Fleming/Fork Union) was named SoCon Freshman of the Week’ for his 8-tackle performance against UTC. He overtook the team lead with 16 tackles this year. Chris Covington (Lawrenceville/Brookwood) is close behind with 15 tackles, 1.5 for a loss, and an interception.
