Men's Basketball Moves up to No. 14 in Mid Major Poll

STATESBORO, Ga. --- A win over Asbury before Christmas has vaulted the Georgia Southern men’s basketball team to No. 14 in the CollegeInsider.com Mid Major Poll released this week.

The Eagles jump up five spots from last week’s No. 19 ranking after defeating Asbury on Dec. 20. AC was ranked 25th in the NAIA Division II Coaches’ poll.

Georgia Southern is the only Southern Conference school in the top 25. Davidson and Wofford are both receiving votes.

Up next for GSU is a Dec. 28 meeting with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and a possible clash with Rhode Island, ranked No. 25 in both the Associated Press and Coaches’ polls.
