Erik Podell - 2012

Erik Podell is in his fourth season as Director of Basketball Operations.

Podell handles all administrative duties related to the program, including film exchange, scheduling and film editing.

He joined the Eagles after attending Northwood University in West Palm Beach, Fla. where he served as undergraduate administrative assistant under legendary head coach Rollie Massimino.

While working for Massimino, Podell helped with day-to-day operations, academics and promotions for the program that started in 2006. He also worked alongside former NBA first-round draft pick and three-time All-American Dennis Hopson.

The Seahawks’ inaugural season was a success, winning a Florida Sun Conference Championship and reaching the first round of the NAIA national tournament. Northwood followed that up with another FSC title and advanced to the NAIA quarterfinals.

Nicknamed “E.Z.” by Massimino after 1985 Final Four Most Outstanding Player Ed Pinckney, Podell was a student in the Entertainment, Sports Promotion and Marketing (ESPM) program at Northwood to promote the fledgling program and eventually earned his B.B.A. degree. He was also mentioned in an article on Massimino in the Philadelphia Daily News.

A native of Rahway, N.J., Podell attended Rahway High School.
