Little Eagles Baseball Camp and Meet the Baseball Eagles schedule is set
STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern Baseball will be conducting the second Annual Little Eagles Baseball clinic on Saturday, February 14th, at J.I. Clements Stadium on the campus of Georgia Southern University.
The clinic is available for all boys and girls ages 4-14. The event is free of charge and open to the public.
“Last year was the first year we had the Little Eagles Baseball Camp and Meet the Baseball Eagles, and the response from our fans and the Statesboro community was overwhelming. It has become a popular event at Georgia Southern already, and we are only into year two,” said Brent Jones, Director of Eagle Sports Marketing. “This is a great way to kick off the start of baseball season and get everyone ready for the spring.”
All kids must provide their own bat and glove in order to participate. Parents are required to sign a waiver form during registration. Kids who register will receive a free goodie bag that will contain Verizon Wireless and GSU promotional items, a ticket to the baseball game on Saturday, February 21st at 2:30 p.m. against Presbyterian College and other promotional items.
Following the morning’s baseball clinic, all are invited to join the GSU Baseball team for Meet the Eagles Day. This is the first opportunity for fans to get their own posters, schedule cards and autographs from the Eagles. There will also be a tour of the stadium given by Georgia Southern mascot, Gus.
Following the tour of the Stadium an intra-squad scrimmage will take place.
“Meet the Eagles is a great way to get the fans to interact with the players and coaches. It also is a great opportunity for anyone who has not been out to J.I. Clements Stadium to see our wonderful facility,” said Jones. "The scrimmage is going to last for about 2-3 hours. As shown by last year’s success and the inquiries we have been receiving about this year, I hope we can have a great crowd and lots of fun.”
Below is a tentative list for all activities on Saturday, February 14th.
