Tony Chisman Plays in NECBL All-Star Game

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern University pitcher Tony Chisman (Conyers/Salem) represented the Sanford Mariners in the 15th annual New England Collegiate Baseball League All-Star game Sunday (July 20). Chisman and the rest of the Northern Division fell 5-2 to the Southern Division at Fuessenich Park in Torrington, CT.

Chisman pitched one scoreless inning, walking two while also playing first base going 0-for-2.

The rising sophomore right-hander earned a spot on the All-Star team posting a 3-1 record with three saves and a 2.57 ERA. He is tied for the team lead making 14 relief appearances. In 21 innings, Chisman has allowed 12 hits, walked eight and struck out 23.

Sanford (22-11 overall) currently leads the Northern Division by one-half game.
