Teaford Earns First MLB Win in First Start

SEATTLE - Former Georgia Southern pitcher Everett Teaford earned his first Major League win in his first start for the Kansas City Royals. Teaford had made 23 relief appearances before earning the start Sunday.

The former Eagle threw five scoreless innings in his first big league start. Teaford allowed three hits and one walk while striking out five batters. He is 1-0 on the year with a 2.73 ERA in 24 games this season.
