Ty Wright Featured in Sports Illustrated

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern University’s Ty Wright (Montrose/West Laurens) is featured in this week’s issue of Sports Illustrated (Volume 108, Issue 20).

The junior designated hitter is included in the section “Faces in the Crowd” for his performance in the Eagles 19-12 victory over Wofford. Wright became the second Eagle this season to hit for the cycle in consecutive innings during game three of the series (single in 1st inning; 2-run home run in 2nd inning; RBI triple in 3rd; 2-run double in 4th). He finished the game 5 for 5 with five RBIs.

Georgia Southern (32-23, 16-11) begins SoCon Tournament play as the fourth-seed, squaring off against fifth-seed UNC Greensboro, on Wednesday (May 21). The game is scheduled to begin at either 5 or 8 p.m.
