The Series
• This will be the second football meeting between Georgia Southern and Louisiana, which was the last team in the Sun Belt for the Eagles to play when they met last year in Southern's third season in the league.

•  Anthony Jennings ran for 96 yards and a touchdown and threw for 210 yards to lead Louisiana to a 33-26 Sun Belt Conference football victory over Georgia Southern on a Thursday night in Paulson Stadium last season.

• GS true freshman Seth Shuman completed 21 of 36 passes for 228 yards and a touchdown in his first career start for Georgia Southern. It was the highest passing total for an Eagle in seven seasons.

• BJ Johnson III set career highs of nine receptions and 127 receiving yards, and Myles Campbell caught five passes for 41 yards and a touchdown.

Moving Up The Charts
• Senior running back L.A. Ramsby needs 89 rushing yards to pass Gerald Harris and move into 12th place all-time at Georgia Southern in career rushing yards. He enters the Louisiana game with 2,291 career rushing yards.

• Ramsby also has 37 career rushing touchdowns, tied with current San Francisco 49er rookie Matt Breida for ninth place. Hall of Famer Tracy Ham is eighth with 41.

• Senior punter Matt Flynn is seventh all-time in GS history in most career punts with 122 and is sixth in most career punt yards (4,843). He's six punts away from passing Bill Thatcher for sixth place in career punts and 495 yards from passing Scott Shelton for fifth place in career yards. His 58 punts this season are tied for the sixth most in school history. He also has 2,326 punting yards this season, the sixth most in school history and 58 punts, the tied for the sixth most in program history for a single season.

Rare Air
• Freshman Shai Werts and junior Kado Brown joined an elite club at Georgia Southern when both threw for over 100 yards against South Alabama last week. Brown threw for 120 yards on 4-for-4 passing with a touchdown while Werts threw for 107 yards and a score on 7-of-13 passing.

• They become just the second duo in school history to throw for 100 yards or more in a game, joining Antonio Henton and Lee Chapple who did it against Western Carolina in 2008 at Western Carolina.

• Henton threw for 154 yards and two scores on 14-of-26 passing with two interceptions while Chapple threw for 140 yards and a score on 10-of-14 passing with two interceptions. GS won the game 38-31 in overtime.
