Georgia Southern Athletics Announces Eagle Fund Coaches Tour
STATESBORO, Ga. – The Georgia Southern University Athletic Foundation will embark on its first annual Eagle Fund Coaches Tour, a month-long, eight city excursion around Georgia this spring.
This new program aims to keep Eagle fans updated and informed on all the happenings in Georgia Southern's athletic programs while also providing supporters a chance to meet and hear from many of the exceptional Georgia Southern athletics coaches as well as Director of Athletics Tom Kleinlein.
Eagle football coach and 2011 Southern Conference Coach of the Year Jeff Monken will be the featured speaker at each tour stop, getting fans and supporters amped up about the 2013 football season. Monken will be joined by other head coaches from GSU's Athletic Department and the radio voice of the Eagles, Chris Blair.
The atmosphere at each tour stop will be packed with True Blue spirit as fans enjoy refreshments while getting a chance to participate in a raffle, featuring incredible Georgia Southern novelty items.
The Eagle Fund Coaches Tour will feature eight stops in surrounding cities, spanning over four consecutive weeks this spring, starting April 25, in Effingham. The last stop on the tour will be in Statesboro at the Bishop Field House in Paulson Stadium May 17. The Eagle Fund Coaches Tour is a spin-off of the Eagle Clubs, which were originally initiated by Georgia Southern University Foundation.
"The Eagle Fund Coaches Tour is a tremendous opportunity for Georgia Southern to reach out to the Eagle Nation by traveling to various communities around Georgia and celebrating Georgia Southern athletics achievements with our fans and supporters," said John Mulherin, President of the Athletic Foundation. "The events are now solely sponsored by the Georgia Southern Athletic Foundation, and we hope to expand the tour and add more stops in the coming years as staffing allows."
Other stops on the tour include: Savannah, Laurens, Augusta, Macon, Atlanta and Emanuel. Tickets for the Eagle Fund Coaches Tour are on sale now.
