Women’s Tennis Continues Conference Slate in South Carolina
STATS: Live Results
STATESBORO, Ga. -- The Georgia Southern Women's Tennis team (2-5) is head to South Carolina this weekend for matches against two conference foes. The Eagles meet Furman (1-5) on Saturday, March 2 in Greenville, S.C. before traveling to Spartanburg, S.C. to take on Wofford (3-3). Both matches start at 11 a.m.
"Furman always has a tough team so we will have to be playing our best tennis. We have lost the last two years against Wofford and that's usually a rivalry that we go back and fourth with. The girls are excited about that match because they feel like having lost such a close one the last two years to them, that that's the match they should really be geared up for," said Head Coach Amy Bonner.
Last time on the court, the Eagles played a tough match against at Troy. Senior Natalie Maffett picked up the lone win for the Eagles in a 6-1 loss.
The Eagles return home for their next match when they take a small break from conference play and invite Savannah State to the Hanner Tennis Complex on Saturday, March 9.
