New Commemorative Cup Offered at Paulson Stadium in 2012
STATESBORO, Ga. – The first of its kind at Paulson Stadium, a new commemorative cup with 3-D imagery will be offered for sale for the 2012 Football season. Available at all concessions stands, the 32-ounce cup features Georgia Southern’s six Football national championship rings on a field of gold athletics logos with a navy sunburst background and full-color logo at the top of the design.
Sponsored by Coca-Cola, the commemorative cup will be filled with the Coke fountain product of the fan’s choice, selling for $4 on game days.
“We're always looking at ways to enhance the game day experience at Paulson Stadium and bring a little something else special for the Prettiest Little Stadium in America,” said Georgia Southern Associate Vice President of Auxiliary Services Eddie Mills.
The commemorative cup features images of the national championship rings with 3-D qualities, a product of lenticular printing by vendor Dynamic Drinkware. The company uses the patented process to print a design on a plastic lens, creating multiple viewable frames that result in the illusion of 3-D depth. Images are divided into strips and interlaced before being printed on the back of an extruded plastic sheet embossed with tiny columns of corrugations. The corrugations, or lenticules, each magnify a small portion of the image.
A glance into any sports fan’s home would likely reveal several stadium or event cups with an affinity for those tied to a special game day experience or place. Reid Tatum, general manager of University Concessions, brought in several sample cups last spring in hopes of offering a better product and souvenir to fans at Paulson Stadium. The expectation is that Eagle fans will want to keep their cups and look forward to each new edition. The rigid injection molded plastic cup is top-shelf dishwasher safe and recyclable.
“There is so much rich history and tradition at Georgia Southern that we hope this is the first edition of an annual commemorative cup,” Mills said.
Dynamic Drinkware’s customer list includes Coca-Cola, several major hospitality companies and all five major league sports leagues.
