Day One Set for Monday, August 20th
STATESBORO, Ga. - Back for a second-straight year, Day One will cap off the first day of Georgia Southern University classes.
The combination pep rally and orientation, set for August 20th at 9 p.m. on the student side of Allen E. Paulson Stadium, will include instruction on Eagle traditions and cheers and speeches from President Dr. Brooks A. Keel, Head Football Coach Jeff Monken and Head Men's Basketball Coach Charlton Young.
Gates open at 8 p.m. and the first 2,000 students will receive free food and the next 2,000 students will receive a True Blue towel.
The event is open not just to students but alumni, members of the community and Georgia Southern employees.
“Voice of the Eagles” Chris Blair will emcee Day One and GUS, the Southern Pride Marching Band, cheerleaders and Freedom will all be in attendance.
